Frank Buffay Sr. is Phoebe’s dad on the sitcom Friends. At first glance, he seems to be a likeable guy but he definitely did a lot of bad things in his life. He was once in a poly triangle with Phoebe’s legal mother and her biological mother at the same time. Eventually leaving his daughter and doing the same thing with another family later.

He shows up when Phoebe’s grandmother dies as he wanted to attend the funeral but bolts out the moment Phoebe figures out who he is.

She gets a little bit of closure and finds out he was the one who technically created the Smelly Cat song with a nursery rhyme called Sleepy Girl. But then we never really see him again.
