Canada only executed one Canadian soldier during the time span of World War II. His name was Harold Pringle and he deserted his post and fled to Rome. He became part of a gang that smuggled goods for the black market in Italy. He was charged in the connection of another gang member (and Canadian deserter) who was shot dead during an argument.
