The Flash should have happened before the Justice League came out, but Warner Brothers was desperate to compete with The Avengers and that impatience cost them their whole movie universe. Granted I know that story would have been different than The Flash movie we have today. I wasn’t exactly happy with Ezra Miller, so I didn’t see the movie in theaters and I waited quite some time to watch it on Max.

The story obviously focuses on Barry Allen. The plot takes a lot from Flashpoint where he goes back in time to save his mom from being murdered. And creates a multiverse in the process.

But not before he’s warned by Bruce Wayne. I would say ironically this is Ben Affleck at his best as Batman. But this will most likely be the very last movie he’ll ever be as the Dark Knight.

I will say that their multiverse thing is not as complicated as I expected. And I kind of guessed the twist on the villain about 30 minutes before they confirmed it.

At first I kind of hated his alternate doppelganger but the duo grew on me just like the list of criminal charges grew on the actor that portrays them.

My main motivation to watch the film was (of course) Michael Keaton returning as Batman. I really want to see a Batman Beyond movie with him as the aging and permanently retired Batman.

We also had Sasha Calle as Kara Zor-El, also known better as Supergirl. Her costume is so pretty, but she really didn’t get enough time on the Silver Screen to make or break her character. Maybe she’ll get another chance in the new Superman movie.

I will say that I like The Flash movie, but it’s not a perfect film and I can understand the people that didn’t like it. Though I do not blame any movie for the actions of its actor. I did find it perplexing that they included that microwave scene considering all the backlash Miller has already gotten. And honestly, I like the twist of the Flashpoint Paradox more than the Flash 2023 movie. Sometimes when the story isn’t broke, perhaps not try to fix it. My final sentence of this will be, I hope that they do not rehire Miller for the new DC Universe created by James Gunn.
