The Deku Tree returns from Breath of the Wild but his entire forest is blocked off by a magical mist. And when you finally get to him, you realize he’s really sick. Kind of like Ocarina of Time, but you didn’t realize that at first back then.

So you get to travel inside his plant body and he’s got a bad case of the gloom.

And not so surprisingly, Phantom Ganon is behind it all.

I actually did all this pretty late in the game, so it was very easy to take Phantom Gannon down. But this was not the last time I got to fight him. But definitely the easiest.

And after his defeat, the tree seems to be all good again. Didn’t do me much good though, I can’t remember what the reward was for.
