While very imperfect films, the first two Deadpool movies are some of my personal favorite superhero films ever made. Deadpool 3 spent a lot of time in limbo because of the whole Fox-Disney thing. But we definitely were paid well for our wait, because of what they could do now with all the rights to Marvel characters that Fox never had. Also there won’t be any major spoilers in this blog post.

Wade Wilson starts his journey in the Marvel Cinematic Universe still stuck in his old Fox Universe, now named the Earth-10005. But after getting rejected by The Avengers, Wade hangs up his costume and becomes normal… Well not a super hero.

For which he is sadly separated from his beloved Vanessa Carlysle. And his whole life is very sad and depressing now.

But it turns out that the TVA wants him for a special mission, but knowing Deadpool he isn’t exactly going to work for anyone without causing absolute and total chaos. But he starts to have something to believe in when he realizes that his universe is about 3 days away from being totally wiped off the map.

Learning that Wolverine was the “anchor being” that kept the universe together, he goes out universe hopping to find a new Logan to save his world.

There are a lot of cameos in this movie and I won’t spoil them here. But the main villain of the movie is Cassandra Nova, who is the twin sister of Charles Xavier and no, she did not make any appearances in any of the other movies. I did find that she was insanely over powerful, to the point that I could see her wiping out Thanos with her left hand while taking Ultron with her right. Which is a bit silly to think about.

Another treat of the movie is all the Deadpool variants and I’m not spoiling any of those except Dogpool.

Deadpool & Wolverine is like its predecessor films. It doesn’t have a fantastic script, or an elegant plot, nor does it possess Oscar winning acting. But damn, it is a very entertaining buddy comedy. It seemed Hugh Jackman was never going to be Wolverine again and I’m so glad he brought out the yellow and blue costume to do this one with Ryan Reynolds. The movie is doing quite well and this goes to show that when you give fans what they want, it usually works out.
