I think it’s important to find things to bond with your wife with and one of the TV shows I do that for is The Bachelorette. Jenn Tran is technically the second Bachelorette that I’ve watched from complete start to finish. Warning, there will be major spoilers ahead!

Jenn is the first Asian-American to be The Bachelorette for the United States broadcast of the show. She’s a very pretty girl but she was actually the third choice after two of her former co-contestants turned down the offer from ABC. And sure enough, some of the guys admitted that they were expecting Maria or Daisy instead of Jenn.

I will say the reason I hate her season is not because of Jenn, but because of her pool of guys. None of them are good, either they’re forgettable, strange, or just plain toxic.

Sam Nejad may have been the most interesting contestant in my opinion as he claimed to be a “love virgin.” I thought it was bizarre that he kept getting a rose until he actually tried to make a move and get intimate with Jenn, and then she basically put him in his place. I kind of believe that he would rather prefer the company of men, but (assumingly) religious reasons makes him think that having had a girlfriend/wife is a better idea.

My wife’s personal favorite for a while was Sam McKinney. He was from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, thus the reason to support him. But I called it (early on) that he would be complete trash as a person because he’s a contractor from one of the reddest parts of South Carolina. I do believe that Jenn found him extremely attractive physically and she was ignoring ALL the red flags. I still can’t believe she didn’t completely send them out of the room when he said that she wasn’t his type and that he was really looking for Maria or Daisy.

But she actually got engaged to Devin Strader, who I would consider to be one of the season’s villains. He upset about half the cast but tried to paint himself as the underdog. The poor little guy that was always chosen second.

But literally right after they get engaged, he breaks up with her via text message. When he was invited to speak at the live finale, you could just see the absolute and utter hatred she had for him in her eyes. He had absolutely ripped her heart out and squashed it with his foot.

So this would be my first Bachelor Nation season that completely fell flat by the finale and the second couple to break up. I don’t like the show as much as my wife does, but the season was just so hard to love. I do sincerely hope that Jenn finds true happiness one day amd may Devin suffer romantically for decades.
