Layla Maloney is one of my favorite love interests in Adam Sandler’s movies. She’s not remarkably beautiful or attractive (but definitely not ugly) but her sweet personality is so almost universally likable

The funny thing is, even though she doesn’t really become a character until about midway through the movie, she was there in the crowd during the first scene. Even on the rewatch, it’s easy to not notice she’s there.

And for the millions of people in New York City, Sonny somehow bumps into her and asks her out despite having no idea that this is Corrine’s sister and the irony of him liking her despite loathing the other. But the two sisters are such opposites in their personalities.

But he manages to win her heart, presumably marries her, and they have a baby, which is pretty sweet.
