Julian McGrath is the first role I ever saw for Dylan and Cole Sprouse and they got really lucky because not only did they star in this movie that everybody remembers, but they also got the role of Ross’ son Ben Gellar on the sitcom Friends.

His character enters the plot as his father never knew he existed and his mother died of cancer. His mama sending him to a different nation on her deathbed.

Only to get semi adopted by his dad’s best friend and immediately finds out that he’s not going to be getting a stepmom anytime soon.

And eventually Sonny just kind of lets him be his self, which is a very badly dressed little boy that calls himself Frankenstein.

Regardless of how you feel about Adam Sandler’s comedy, that scene where he cries when he gets taken away by foster care can tear almost anybody’s heart.

And since Sonny up marrying his stepmother’s sister, instead of getting him as a father, he gets him as a cool uncle. Which is actually pretty rad.
Idk if I’d call them lucky. Maybe? After hearing one of the twins recount how awful his childhood was and having a narcissistic mother pushing them into showbiz, I just feel sorry for them. On one hand, they were afforded better opportunities than most of us, but on the other hand, at what cost? The role was cute and memorable, and I still laugh and say “but I wipe my own ass!” all the time.
