Tam Nguyen was one of the last characters introduced on The Big Bang Theory. Which I highly believe was mainly to connect to the Young Sheldon series. Tam was decent but far from the show’s most memorable side character.

He goes to the same high school that Sheldon was elevated early at. His family came from Communist Asia and they became Catholic. Despite the differences in their backgrounds, Sheldon makes friends with him because they’re both just kind of the weird kids.

And they both like the same kind of nerdy things. Tam unfortunately got to see too much of the crazy side of Sheldon’s mother, Mary.

But once Tam starts to really go through puberty is when they start to drift apart, just as it was alluded to in the Big Bang Theory. Then he just kind of disappears for a few seasons.

Then shows up near the very end in a appearance that kind of shocked me because I forgot about him. I kind of wish they didn’t do this one because the way it ended didn’t make much sense for Sheldon to be so mad in The Big Bang Theory about seeing his old friend again.
