Marth is the most notable emblem ring character in the game in my opinion, mainly because of the story. I was curious to see how he would fit in the game as he was the original hero of the Fire Emblem series and he is definitely centuries dead from old age by the time frame of Fire Emblem: Awakening.

But he serves as a spirit of sorts that is able to enhance and battle with Alear along with other heroes.

While you can change emblem ring characters, Marth does seem to be the one Alear prefers be bonded with. Though his special attack isn’t that great…

Eventually we see him corrupted and we don’t get him back for a long time.

And when you do, there’s so many better options that you might as well have him bonded to one of the weakest members of your team.
