Pastor Rob is a minor character in The Young Sheldon series and doesn’t appear until the television show is at least halfway through its run. I will say that I never expected his story to go the way it did.

He’s the new youth pastor that gets hired by Pastor Jeff at the Baptist Church in Texas to inspire the love of God in the young children. And more or less, he’s quite skilled at his job. But there was no hope of converting Sheldon Cooper to be a Jesus-loving Christian, lol.

What I definitely didn’t expect was him and Mary Cooper having that almost-relationship. She wasn’t very happy in her marriage with George and her attraction to Pastor Rob definitely made her almost commit adultery. A lot of people that watched the show called it “an emotional affair” but I wouldn’t go that far.

Which puts him at odds with George because he was definitely aware of something that potentially could have happened. Despite himself doing the same thing with Brenda Sparks.

And eventually they have a very vocal conversation about the whole thing. If I remember right, he was going to take a new job somewhere else and I guess he does because after Mary and George become grandparents, we don’t really see him again. Little did he know that Mary would become a widow not long afterward.
