Tecmo was directly inspired by Virtua Fighter by Sega when creating their fighting game. It was so successful for Tecmo that it essentially solved all their financial problems.  This was partly due to the popularity of its “jiggle physics” from its attractive female fighters. Its creator also predicted that it would either be a complete success or a absolute failure.
