For my wife’s breast cancer-related TDAP surgery, we chose to fly rather than spend over ten hours on the interstate. Neither option sounded enjoyable, but flying seemed more manageable. I’m not wealthy or pretentious, but we had to book first class. She needed priority boarding, less walking between gates, and a more comfortable seat especially for the flight back home.

Overall, I really enjoyed flying with Delta. The night before, I had terrible flight anxiety, but once we were in the air, I was pleasantly surprised. The seats were comfortable, the in-flight entertainment kept us occupied, and on three out of four flights (we had a connection), the crew genuinely made us feel like first-class passengers. The Boeing aircraft we flew on also handled turbulence well, making for smooth flights. Unfortunately, our last flight home didn’t go as smoothly. Delta only gave us forty minutes to get from our first plane to our connecting flight at the chaotic Atlanta airport, which required changing terminals. Because of the rush, we boarded late, and the flight attendant gave away my overhead space. I ended up having to store my backpack at my feet for the entire flight. Felt like I was on a bus than First Class…
Too bad about the short connection time. That can be so stressful. Glad you made it. I tend to like Delta. They have non-stops from Málaga to NYC but only in summer. So much nicer than changing plans, nearly doubles travel time. I hope your wife is doing very well!
10 hours is a long drive indeed. Flying is so much quicker. We don’t really do much flying within GB and are more likely to drive from Scotland to London for instance. I’ve not been on a flight in ages and my daughter, who is nearly 7, hasn’t been on one yet.

I hope your wife’s recovery is going well. We like Delta as well, though we’ve never flied first class. I am sure she appreciated having the extra space after such a procedure and as a woman, I’d say money well spent. The man behind you doesn’t look impressed with your selfie LOL
