We went to the Audubon Zoo here in New Orleans right before her surgery, and we originally were going to go in November, but we had to arrive back sooner than expected. The September sun in New Orleans was not kind lol.

And with back wounds, it was hard for her to walk that day, but my wife loves zoos, and that wasn’t going to stop her. It was her birthday week too, so it’s not like I was going to stop her anyway. I love being this beautiful woman’s husband and seeing the world with her.

I was sad we couldn’t bring the kids, as this place is pretty cool. They even had a little corral where they could ride little cars around a dragon-elephant statue. I could see Alex loving this so much that we would have to drag him away kicking and screaming.

The animals here are plentiful and unique, with some being native to New Orleans. My favorite shot was of this animal related to a llama but with a strange name I’ve forgotten.

This is not my favorite zoo in the world, but we had a great time here. I thought the aquarium was a letdown, but the zoo holds up pretty well to the hype. It’s way better than the Greenville Zoo here at home, but I prefer the North Carolina State Zoo in Asheboro, NC, and the Smithsonian Zoo, in Washington, DC.
Sounds good Adam and I love zoos too. The kids would have loved it I am sure. I am glad your wife is determined. If you ever visit over here in Scotland, come to Edinburgh Zoo it’s great 😀

Hope your wife is doing well. Looks like a nice time. I’ve heard nice things about the Audubon Zoo. Don’t they have an albino alligator?
Glad you both had a good time. It does look like a pretty nice zoo!
