Mogryph is one of the earliest bosses in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom and the second one I faced, even though most official guides recommend doing this dungeon third.

I quickly understood why. I found myself in trouble almost immediately, and the quicksand alone was enough to make me slow down and think carefully about every move.

I will say that his first phase is actually pretty easy. With the right echoes and some smart use of your sword, he can go down fairly quickly.

Once he grows wings and starts flying around, though, the fight becomes much more difficult. It is harder to deal consistent damage, especially since he can knock away many aerial echoes with very little effort.

I did end up dying to him once. I did not take the idea of a second boss being that difficult seriously, so I failed to properly stock up on health potions. After that loss, during the second phase, I came back better prepared and managed to defeat him without much trouble on my next attempt.
