Vocavor is one of the major bosses in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom on the Nintendo Switch. It was my third boss battle in the game, although most players seem to tackle this one second.

You encounter this demon-like fish thing early on while starting the dungeon it serves as the main menace for, which is pretty rare for a Zelda boss. It sends powerful cyclones at you during this early encounter, but the initial tease is not especially scary or difficult to deal with.

Once the actual boss fight begins, though, it becomes one of the more challenging battles across the first three dungeons. The cyclones are a huge headache, even when using a strong echo like the Chompfin.

Unfortunately, the fight also has two phases. I was able to land enough hits with my sword to finish the first phase without too much trouble.

The second phase was far more challenging. The small patches of dry land scattered through the water make positioning tricky, and at this point in the game you do not have many powerful echoes to rely on. You really have to make every summon count and come up with a solid plan.

Overall, I had a good strategy and never came close to dying. I sent this underwater monster straight to the Hylian sushi bar. It was not my favorite boss fight in the game, but it was still a pretty solid one.
