Sister, Sister was one of countless good sitcoms during the 1990s. It was never the best, but it was far from the worst. It definitely helped launch Tia and Tamera Mowry into becoming somewhat recognizable celebrities for their time.

Like many 1990s comedies, it does have a kind of silly premise. One day, a young adopted black girl is shopping with her legal dad at the mall, only really worried about picking out her next outfit.

At the same mall, there’s another adopted girl with her adoptive mother, doing the exact same thing. They hover around the same area and get confused because they are biological twins who were separated at birth.

Eventually, both the girls and their parents figure it out, leading the twin girls to reconnect and become real sisters again. But the mathematical odds of them meeting at the mall, in the same way, wearing the exact same outfit, are probably less likely than winning the lottery and getting struck by lightning at the same time.

Still, the twins were different enough in their personalities that it wasn’t like watching two characters with the exact same traits, despite them being identical twins. That being said, I can’t really remember many other characters on the show besides the girls, the dad, and the mom.

But they had a pretty good run with multiple seasons, and it lasted until the girls were kind of adults. Apparently there were talks of a revival, but the interest wasn’t strong enough.
I don’t remember it, maybe we didn’t get it over here. I remember watching Blossom and My Two Dads though, they made it over here!
I don’t think I was a dedicated fan of the show, but I do remember watching episodes occasionally and thought it was a decent show.
