I have been a big fan of the Terminator series for quite some years now. Though to be fair, none of them have been that great since the first two movies. Terminator: Dark Fate seee creative control return to James Cameron. But can even he and his director Tim Miller make a worthy sequel to the first two movies?

The movie is set in the year 2020, the young and beautiful Sarah Connor is now an old lady. Shortly after the events of Terminator 2, John Connor is murdered by surprise by another Terminator sent by Skynet. Sarah Connor spends the rest of her life afterward hunting down and destroying any Terminator she can get her hands on.

While the Terminator was successful about killing John Connor, Sarah Connor was successful on stopping Skynet from existing. Ironically, another AI company named Legion takes over the world in similar fashion. They send its own Terminator after a young Mexican woman named Dani Ramos.

Along with the cyborg named Grace, Sarah Connor helps protect Dani Ramos from this new Terminator threat. However Sarah Connor will have to swallow her pride and her hatred when her biggest ally turns out to be the Terminator who killed John Connor.

Overall, I found Terminator: Dark Fate to be one of the better sequels to the first two movies. It’s definitely better than Terminator: Genisys a few years back. It changes the story so pretty much every sequel after Terminator 2 is now non-canon. But at end of the day, James Cameron and the rest made a film that just can’t capture some of that same magic from the first two.
Score: B-
I plan on watching this at some point. It does sound like a good movie.

This franchise just needs to stop. I couldn’t bring myself to watch yet again, another Terminator movie.
