Besides Lance, Leon was my favorite Pokemon League champion in the series.

We see him at the start of the game, battling the strongest gym leader.

I think he mainly did it to show off his fancy Charizard in its Dynamax form.

We find out he’s the brother of your buddy Hop. He gives both of you your first Pokemon, and endorses you for no apparent reason. What a swell guy.

I do you find it odd that he couldn’t catch a legendary Pokemon.

And I enjoyed using that Pokemon against him.

Though I always had to plan my moves carefully against Leon. It was somewhat tough, but I defeated him.

He did take his defeat with grace.
