Toya was a decent character on Yu Yu Hakusho. He first appeared as an enemy fighter during the third round of the Dark Tournament.
His opponent was Kurama, who had his demon energy sealed up during the previous battle.
Wasn’t very fair for Kurama, as without his demon energy, he was fairly helpless against a sword made of ice.
But Kurama managed to defeat him, by putting a death plant in his own body to get his demon energy out of him.
Both of them live to see another day. With Kurama getting the official win but he loses all consciousness for awhile.
He takes Kurama’s invitation to fight for Yomi. Impressively becoming an S-Class demon in the process. It didn’t help him much during the Demon World Tournament though. As he lost pretty early on.
I’ve never watched this.
