One of Netflix’s best moves they’ve ever done is get the rights to the Seven Deadly Sins anime. Now that the main series is over, there is a final movie which luckily arrived shortly after the final season landed on Netflix. I was expecting more time to wait but I was delighted to see the final story of Meliodas and his friends.

The movie takes place a few months after the death of the Demon King. While many would expect that life would go back to normal, things have evolved for many characters. Meliodas and Elizabeth are planning to get married and they’ve decided to explore Britannia before becoming the king and queen. During their vacation, they run into his brother Zeldris and his girlfriend Gilda.

Unknown to them at the time, but the demon realm had been invaded by two outsiders. One is obviously a fairy with incredible strength. While his friend is much more mysterious in origin. They easily slaughter the demons there and leave quite a mess for Zeldris, who wants to return as the new Demon King.

As Diane and King get married, they are among many who encounter fairies and giants who are attacking anybody connected to the end of the last holy war. They carry weapons made by the most powerful craftsman the world has ever known. But why on Earth are they attacking the heroes?

Overall The Seven Deadly Sins: Cursed By Light is a good but not that great of a movie. I should have guessed the actual villain way before it actually happened. The manga author is currently writing a sequel series not focused on the main characters of this one, and I’m sure the anime will be as promising. But I’m glad we got this movie as a special treat to the end of the Seven Deadly Sins anime.
