Before Mario got his own DDR game, I had only briefly played the arcade ones. I didn’t have a PS2 at the time, so my choices were pretty limited when it came to music games.

Luckily Nintendo and Konami were smart enough to make a dance mat for the game. It sounds like a basic idea that’s required but I’ve seen dumber things done by video game developers than leaving out a dance mat for a dancing game.

The game itself was the same formula as all the other DDR games. Mario even had a little story he could work his way through.

It was a decent attempt by both Nintendo and Konami. The only thing that brought the game back was a lackluster song list. But I enjoyed it nevertheless.
