I was a big fan of Star Wars and I did enjoy the prequels upon their release. It was later in life that I realized how bad some of the acting was as George Lucas lost all of his directing talents by then. The Obi-Wan Kenobi series has been a huge win for Disney, as it’s the most popular original series on Disney+ so far.

The series is set in between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. Obi-Wan Kenobi is now going by Ben and is looking distantly over Luke Skywalker.

That’s until a group of Empire-loyal former Jedi come looking for fallen members of the order to hunt.

The most notable is Reva, who is considered the least ranking of the group. But her determination to capture Obi-Wan Kenobi eclipses her actual talents with a light-saber.

So she orders the kidnapping of Leia Organa to bait Kenobi into a trap. I will say this little girl absolutely killed it as Leia. I know Carrie Fisher would have been so proud.

Also worth noting is the return of Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader with James Earl Jones providing the voice with the mask on. Vader in the series is absolutely terrifying and wonderful.

While the Obi-Wan Kenobi television series isn’t perfect, I found it highly enjoyable. I heard Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen were upset with how critics and toxic fans treated them back in the day, and how delighted they were with legitimate fans who actually enjoyed the prequels. They do very much enjoy their characters and it really shows here.
