It’s a shame Emily didn’t stay on the show for as long as she did. I learned recently that she actually got pregnant and had to leave the show earlier than expected.

She was honestly too good for Ross. She was smart, cute, and British. I honestly don’t know why she was even drawn to Ross in the first place.

But their mutual l liking of each other becomes apparent when she travels to America to see him again, at the same time he actually traveled to London to reunite with her. You’ll never see a plot like this in sitcoms again because cell phones would have made this highly unlikely.

It all goes to poop when Ross says “I take thee Rachel” during their wedding ceremony. And he had to do it during an international wedding, and it was absolutely ruined beyond repair.

The funny thing is she had an opportunity to back out of the marriage when she heard Ross say to everyone that he was in love with another woman. Their wedding night obviously wasn’t consummated, and Ross put salt on the wound by inviting Rachel to their planned honeymoon when Emily apparently didn’t show up. And of course, she sees Rachel at the very last minute boarding her seat on the airplane.

And she gave Ross several different chances after all that. Finally coming up the ultimatum that he could never see Rachel again in, which he refuses and cements the divorce. Well it’s an ugly trait, I don’t blame her for being so controlling and hyper jealous, but I still can’t believe that she almost gave Ross another chance when she was getting married to another man in England later on. Which is pretty ironic because to her groom she could have been thinking “I take thee Ross.”
