My wife and I started Sons of Anarchy earlier this year and we’ve been enjoying the series so far. We can’t watch it all the time because of how violent it is and the kids being around but we’re almost halfway through now by finishing season 3.

I was honestly quite shocked that David Hale was killed so early on. I know his actor went on to create Yellowstone, so at least it worked out for him personally.

The focus of the season is mainly in Belfast, Northern Ireland. As the local IRA dealer for the Sons of Anarchy ended up kidnapping Jax’s son and taking him all the way to Belfast.

And the baby becomes a hostage of sorts between Jimmy O’ and his rivals in the Irish Republican Army. At many points, none of this made sense of why they would keep Abel and even after the season is over, it’s not a great explanation.

It was interesting to see a Sons of Anarchy chapter in Belfast which had been established by Jax’s father. And currently ran by one of the original members of the Motorcycle Club.

The main villain in California this time is Hector Salazar, the club president of a vassal group to the Mayans. I’m actually quite surprised the justice served to him wasn’t more brutal.

And of course, this is the last season with Agent June Stahl. Whenever Opie tried to pull the trigger the first time, I was hoping he wouldn’t do it. But after she does something a few episodes before her demise, it’s hard to not be happy with her gone.

Season 3 was pretty good but I don’t think it’s my favorite season of them all. We already started season 4 and we’ll see how long it takes us to finish that one.
I’ve always meant to watch this series too. Maybe someday I’ll get around to it.
