Eoin ODuffy was an Irish Republican who also happened to be one of the most fascist far-right members of the independent Irish movement. He had actually sent some soldiers down to Spain to fight for Francisco Franco during the Spanish Civil War as they were motivated to fight for Catholicism against communism. Funny enough, Francisco Franco was very unimpressed by his soldiers and didn’t ask for more. Germany was offered but they denied help.
