Secret Invasion was one of Marvel’s latest television series for the MCU. But it had a very lukewarm reception, and for a decent reason.

Practically the only hero of the MCU to show up is Nick Fury. And since we really haven’t seen much of him in action (since he’s entirely human) it’s very lopsided fight most of the time.

But it does make sense for him to be part of it since the Skrulls have split into two factions. There are the ones loyal to Nick Fury and then ones who are loyal to new leader called Gravik.

Gravik pulls a lot of strings and is capable of murder. But his true goal is the genocide of the human race.

And with Skrulls being anyone or anybody, it’s easy for Nick Fury not to be trusted or trust anybody.

It was nice to see Emilia Clarke actually get a job outside of Game of Thrones. She may have picked the wrong role though, but we’ll see how she fares in future projects

Probably my favorite character is the British lady Sonya Falsworth who is basically the UK version of Nick Fury.

The problem with Secret Invasion is it doesn’t quite know what it wants to be. Is it a superhero action show? Or is it a mystery thriller? Instead of doing one well, it does two kind of half-assed. I almost liked it, but it took me months to actually finish six single episodes, which it’s kind of embarrassing for Marvel.
