Simon was a decent character on Hot in Cleveland, but since Craig Ferguson (at the time) was hosting a late night talk show on CBS, you could tell that his character was only going to be around for just a little.

He was the ex-boyfriend of Joy who got her pregnant when both of them were pretty young. I can’t remember why but he had a pretty decent reason for that whole mess. But he comes back, interested in Joy.

And they almost get engaged and married but she eventually ends up with Bob. But I think they would have made a good couple especially as their lost son had reunited with them.
