Seto Kaiba is actually one of my favorite anime characters of all time. Every anime needs a frenemy and Seto Kaiba takes the cake on that.

He was some rich kid that managed to be the best player at Duel Monsters because he had the most money, lol. He was the only person who possessed the Blue Eyes White Dragon outside of Solomon Moto and manages to steal it from him. Instead of adding a fourth one to his deck, he decides to destroy it, which made no sense to me.

His first duel against Yugi was pretty cool, especially as he was defeated by Exodia.

His next major rematch against him was a lot more technical but a pretty fun watch.

Especially as he had to keep upping the game of making the Blue Eyes White Dragon the most feared monster in the whole game

He manages to have a match against Pegasus first and loses horribly to the Toon World nonsense and his soul is taken away from him until Yugi saves the day.

He organizes the next tournament Battle City which puts them directly up against Marik. Which is funny because he had no desire for the Millennium items, just for the Egyptian God cards, so he can still be the number one player.

For which he gets one of them, Obelisk the Tormentor but I’m pretty sure he loses it to Yugi later. He remains in the series until the very end, still one of the most smug SOBs to ever exist.
