Joey Wheeler was a fairy lovable “loser” in the Yu-Gi-Oh anime series. The American English adaptation of him is mocked because they gave him a Brooklyn accent.

Before the series really starts, he was Yugi’s best friend though I’m pretty sure it started out as him being Yugi’s bully. But they bond over Duel Monsters and start a real friendship.

Despite having a deck that probably cost $45 at first and no experience, he becomes a contestant in the Duelist Kingdom by fraud and somehow becomes the runner-up.

I also remember his duels in Battle City for the most part, as he battled the people Yugi beat in the previous arc, Duelist Kingdom.

My favorite monster of his was the Red Eyes Black Dragon, far from the most dangerous beast in the game, but it has its own charm to it.

And that Time Wizard thing was pretty cool too.
