The Hero of Time is actually my favorite incarnation of Link in the entire Zelda series and I doubt that’s ever going to change.

It may have to do something with the fact that this was my first Zelda game I played from start to finish. But that’s not to say that the Hero of Time isn’t memorable regardless of which Zelda it was. I thought it was relatable that young Link was about as old as I was when I started playing the game.

But the fact that he grew up really blew my mind when he grabbed the Master Sword.

Big Link was definitely much funner to play as. Plus he also had the better weapons. The bow and arrow are definitely much more satisfying than the boomerang for example.

I always thought that it was funny that his entire quest should have been one of speed in importance. So the fact that most players waste time with fishing mini games is kind of ironically hilarious.

According to Ganondorf, he could have killed Link several times during the events of the game. But he apparently let Link live so he could open up the Temple of Time and didn’t slay him after so that Princess Zelda would reveal herself one day. And sure enough, Ganondorf comes to claim that investment.

But it was really fun to play against Ganondorf. Was really the first time that Link faced him in his humanoid form and their duels throughout the centuries have been so much fun.

While the death of Ganondorf is a lot more epic and painful in Wind Waker, I do love seeing Link kill him at the end of Ocarina of Time.

When Link saves Hyrule, his princess gives him the choice of staying in the future ir going back to the past since he was denied a childhood. And surprisingly enough, he chooses to go back to being a boy.

But he had no Princess Zelda to love him nor did Navi the fairy stay to be his friend. Link had very much may have made the worst choice of all time.
