In 2009, the state of Colorado introduced a specific plan to offer free iuds to almost all women in the state. The plan was a huge success with unwanted pregnancy and abortion rates dropping drastically. For every dollar the state paid for the birth control, they saved almost $6 in welfare spending. When the program was up for renewal, it was killed by Republicans in the State House. Mostly from social conservatives who cannot stand the fact that women were making their own choices and others who believed incorrectly that IUDs cause abortions.
Very good
I meant good program
Ignorance and denial win out. Astounding.
