Soma Cruz is the hero of Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow and definitely one of those twist heroes, kind of like Raiden in Metal Gear Solid 2.

But he plays more like Dracula’s son Alucard than a Belmont.

But his biggest attribute was his ability to steal souls and use new powers when he killed new enemies.

But as you get toward the end of the game, it becomes (surprise, surprise) that he’s actually Dracula reborn.

And the good person that he is has to fight the darkness in his soul or something. Or risk becoming Dracula once more.

In which he remains a hero, but his story doesn’t end there as more crazy stuff goes on in its sequel Dawn of Sorrow.
