Technically, the only boss in The Legend of Zelda series to bear the same name as its title, Majora’s Mask serves as the ultimate antagonist in the game. This is a bit surprising, considering you’d expect Skull Kid — the one wearing the mask of evil — to fill that role.

The battle itself is a little strange since you’re essentially fighting a literal mask, especially in its first phase.

At one point, the mask summons the remains of the fallen bosses to attack you. Interestingly, this idea was kind of used in reverse for Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom.

Eventually, Majora’s Mask starts growing limbs and becomes somewhat humanoid, but still mostly monstrous.

Then it transforms into something even more nightmarish. But despite all its phases, I didn’t find the fight that difficult — though I did have the Fierce Deity Mask and the Great Fairy Sword.

Once you defeat Majora’s Mask, the Moon is destroyed, and the land of Termina is saved from the apocalypse.
