Things I Like: Four Giants (Zelda: Majora’s Mask)

The Four Giants are pivotal but rarely seen characters in The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask. One mistake I think Nintendo made was making them all look the same—they could have at least varied their colors for each one.

You unlock them as you beat each dungeon. Since there are four main dungeons, there are four giants, and they are absolutely key to stopping the Moon when it descends.

One is not good enough; two is not enough; three is still not enough—but four will stop the Moon and hold it up.

If you pay attention to the details of the game as you explore, you’ll notice that Skull Kidwas once friends with the Four Giants. Somehow, he made them mad, and they no longer wanted to play with him.

However, after the evil mask is defeated, it is implied that they have somewhat forgiven him. It’s a little silly, in my opinion, because, given the size difference, it’s like trying to make a friend out of a bug.
