Things I Like: Tatl (Zelda: Majora’s Mask)

Tatl is the fairy that replaces Navi in The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask. I liked her overall, but not as much as her blue predecessor. They function in pretty much the same way.

She and her brother, Tael, are best friends with Skull Kid, and they don’t consciously object when he tries to rob Link at the beginning of the game.

The chaos that follows unfolds after Tatl gets separated from them and decides to help Link set things right.

Like Navi, she provides information and helps you lock onto enemies using the Z trigger.

By the end of the game, she reunites with her brother Tael, which makes sense. What doesn’t make sense, though, is why they don’t have a Kokiri to protect—since that’s kind of part of the established lore.
