Fun Facts trivia and things you never knew about The video game Quake

Quake II was eventually released on both computers and video game consoles, including the Nintendo 64. It wasn’t released for MS-DOS but instead ran on Windows 95.

While Quake I was famous for its dark fantasy elements, Quake II featured a sci-fi storyline centered on humans versus aliens. It existed in its own distinct universe. Originally, it was meant to be a completely new game under the titles Strogg, Lock and Load, or simply Load.

Half-Life used the Quake I engine during its early beta development but switched to a different engine for the final release.

Quake II became one of the most popular online video games of 1998 but not the largest.

One of its most notable mods, Action Quake II, gained popularity for adding more gore and realistic gameplay.

In Germany, Quake II was banned for its violent content.

Online matches supported up to 32 players, while split-screen play was limited to 4 players locally on home consoles. Additionally, the multiplayer maps on the PlayStation version differed from those in the original PC release.

I love Quake but I got bad motion sickness with it. I used to play Doom, Hexen, Heretic and Quake in the 90s. The good old days eh! My partner has the MetaQuest VR and I get terrible sickness with that too. He is fine with it and so is my daughter.
