Krystal is one of the most important characters in the Nintendo GameCube game Star Fox Adventures. Though she wasn’t always in the picture, as she’s gone for the majority of the game. She also was supposed to be the sole hero of the N64 game Dinosaur Planet before Nintendo asked Rare to make it Star Fox Adventures on the GameCube, with Fox McCloud stealing her limelight.

You start the game as her, and her staff eventually ends up in the hands of Fox. But you fight a mini-boss battle as her, which was a decent little memory for me in my teenage years.

But like Princess Zelda in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, she gets captured in crystal (no pun intended) and has to wait for a big strong fox to free her at the very end.

And after almost falling to her death, Fox does save her. Though they don’t have much interaction outside of that.

But at the end, it’s heavily implied that Fox and Krystal got some “boom boom time” in his spaceship. Which is kind of funny for a Nintendo game, especially one on a console that was considered “kiddie” back in the day by so-called “mature” losers. Though I won’t forgive Krystal entirely, as she helped inspire an entire generation of millennial furries, which are people who pretend they’re animals and whose delusions involve things you can go to jail for.
