Fox McCloud is the hero of Star Fox Adventures, obviously, and while this isn’t his greatest incarnation, his design is actually my favorite visually. He wasn’t supposed to be the star, as the game was originally a unique title called Dinosaur Planet on the N64 before Nintendo had Rare do a soft restart as a Star Fox game on the Nintendo GameCube.

So he lands on a strange planet full of dinosaurs and one blue fox. And all the dinosaurs, save for a few, are evil and want to kill him.

Luckily, they’re not very tough. I was a bit sad that the combat of the game was so simple, basic, and baby-easy. Wind Waker really put this game to shame later with its much more advanced game engine and digital craftsmanship.

But he manages to save his obvious love interest, as they’re both foxes… which apparently don’t exist in large numbers in space.

And lamely, his nemesis Andross is the main baddie, even though you killed him in the last game. This guy is almost as bad as Ganondorf and Bowser when it comes to revivals.

And for his reward, it’s heavily implied Krystal was going to “THANK” Fox for his troubles via the spaceship bedroom. Funny how Nintendo kinda let this scene happen, lol. And dang, Krystal, you knew him for five minutes. Can’t you have coffee or dinner first?
