It’s hard not to like the star of the series. In the first part of the series, Goku becomes a Super Saiyan God and fights Beerus the God of Destruction of the Universe 7.

I enjoyed him and Vegeta training under Whis. It did make them super strong compared to anybody else in the Universe 7.

Then he gets the power Super Saiyan Blue, which he first uses against Frieza when Frieza comes back from the dead. Goku later finds out that it’s not enough alone to defeat Hit of Universe 6.

I will admit, Goku didn’t have the greatest fights in Dragon Ball Super. They were long, played out, and the levels of powers often didn’t make any sense.

I did enjoy his friendship with Grand Zeno, who is basically the god of the Dragon Ball Multiverse. But despite his divine power, Zeno is very childlike and funny.

At the end of the series, Goku gets his greatest power up ever, autonomous Ultra instinct.

Despite that, Goku technically doesn’t win the tournament of power. While Universe 7 won, it was Android 17 that was the lone contestant when Jiren was defeated.
