I liked Goten in Dragon Ball Z, but his role in Dragon Ball Super was a waste of space.

He was always mostly out of the major story lines. He did have a larger role in some of the lamer episodes that were more filler than anything.

Goten spent most of the series hanging out with Trunks.

He does fight a little as Gotenks, losing badly and quickly to both Lord Beerus and later Frieza.
