Asteroids is a classic video game, lasting into gaming history to this day despite nobody in Generation Z who ever wanted to play it. I am a Millennial (Gen Y) and even this game was really old when I was a kid. But I gave it a try while at the Carolina Arcade Museum in Forest City, North Carolina.

The controls and graphics are pretty simple. Both of them, for the worst rather than the better.

But I didn’t know that in real life, the screen on the arcade machine had this strange glow when you fired your spaceship cannons at the space rocks. Now I can see why it was really popular back in the day. While it’s simple, it’s hypnotic and pretty cool to see.
