Solid Snake missed out on Smash 4, but he makes his return to Ultimate since his origin in Brawl. I’ve always enjoyed the Metal Gear Solid series, so I was glad to see him back. I thought it was wrong he missed the last game.

Just like Brawl, most of his tech from the Metal Gear games comes back. His cypher gives him one of the best (yet flawed) recoveries in the game.

His most useful attack in offense is his missile launcher. Packs a powerful punch when hit, but it can be dodged. Snake is also a sitting duck until the missile is gone.

He has a new final smash this time where you target as many people as you can with cross-hairs on the screen. Then missiles will come out of the sky and blast everyone away. Though it is avoidable to an extent. One of my favorite final smash attacks in the game.

When Kirby takes Snake’s power, he gets the grenades. A pretty useful special move. Even if the grenades don’t cause any damage, most opponents take them seriously enough and will avoid your direction if carefully thrown.

While not my favorite fighter in the game, I’ve done pretty well with Snake online. I’ve also met some very talented players who have used Snake as well. While I’m far from unstoppable, even with little practice, I can win more than I lose with Snake.
