She was definitely way more of a complex character than I ever expected. When the story begins, we learn she’s an adopted princess of Liones. She escapes the castle when corrupt Holy Knights take over the kingdom. Amd she goes out to find the Seven Deadly Sins.

And she meets the Captain of the Seven Deadly Sins, Meliodas… And he has absolutely no shame.

No shame whatsoever. But he really does love her and she’s usually around for most of what goes on in the story. And she eventually loves him too.

She is a very kind hearted soul but she isn’t just a regular human.

But she was once a member of the Goddess race and daughter of the Supreme Diety. Killed by her own mother for falling in love with a demon.

She reincarnates after every mortal death as a human. Three days after regaining her memories, she’s killed tragically. This has happened over one hundred times.

And Meliodas has to watch and witness this for thousands of years. His love for her is absolutely unreal. One of my favorite love stories in all fiction.

While always a skilled healer, once she regains her powers as Elizabeth Liones, she’s pretty strong. Enough to give the Demon King a challenge.

After all the defeat of the Demon King, she married Meliodas. They become King and Queen of Liones and have a son named Tristan. I was very happy with this.
