At the end of the Studiopolis Zone in Sonic Mania, Dr. Eggman uses his new weather robot machine to challenge you.

So there are bits of heavy wind, rain, heavy, and even thunder. All of it pretty much ready to hurt Sonic and Tails.

Though I didn’t find this one challenging at all. But I had my fun with it. It sort of reminded me of a boss battle in the Kirby series.
