Pikachu is inaugurably the most popular Pokemon of all time and probably always will be. And with Super Smash Bros coming out not long after the release of Pokemon, his inclusion was a pretty obvious given.

I imagine they based most of his attacks off the anime, as you had to use your imagination back in the day when playing Pokemon on the Nintendo Game Boy.

He’s fast, quick, and agile with all the electric attacks. He was never my absolute favorite, but my brother Zach probably used him more than any other fighter in the game.

And just like with Mario or Link, I would be shocked beyond belief if Pikachu was not in a future installment of the series.
