Things (My Wife) Likes: Love Is Blind (Netflix TV Series)

Love is Blind is one of Netflix’s most popular programs right now and my wife was not immune to being sucked in by the hype. I was actually somewhat interested in watching it but I just don’t really have the time. But I have watched bits and pieces with her.

The best thing about Love is Blind is the concept. Having people choose engagements without seeing the other person is pretty crazy but theoretically it should work out very well.

I was a little surprised that they could describe themselves. Though it is not always accurate. As this woman above describes herself looking like Megan Fox. She’s more like the Dollar Tree Megan Fox or Megan Fox from Wish. Mom can we have Megan Fox? Mom said “we have Megan Fox at home.”

Not all couples will get engaged and I was actually surprised by how many didn’t make the cut. But they’re all super happy when it actually happens.

Then it comes time for them to leave their little experiment and live with each other. Theoretically this should be fairly good in principle.

But this later turns into a gigantic dumpster fire. Most of these couples are acting like boyfriend & girlfriends that have been dating for 10 years and are sick of each other. If you all are doing that after a month or two, it ain’t going to work out, especially to the altar.

The show is hosted by Nick and Vanessa Lachey and it’s kind of sadly hilarious to me that they are profiting off of the suffering of people with horrible personality problems. You have to be kind of weird to get on this kind of show “for love” but it seems like they cast men with misogynistic views or infidelity problems. And then most of the women are either way too stuck up or have extreme jealousy issues. While Nick Lachey and his wife don’t really influence the couples, the cast and crew sets up a formula for disaster and they just let it play out on the camera.
