Giran was a decent minor antagonist on the Dragon Ball series. Though one you would love to hate.

He is one of the fighters Goku battles against during World Martial Arts Tournament. Even for Goku, fighting a big dragon monster isn’t exactly easy for any warrior.

Especially when he gets wrapped up in jelly and can’t move.

Goku strangely enough manages to overcome all these obstacles and Giran forfeits the match, instead of being beaten legitimately.

We see him a good bit later during the King Piccolo Saga. Being a bully to a local family of bears.

For which, the even more evil Tambourine comes to take him out as he was on the hit list. He’s easily defeated but he was wished back with the Dragon Balls along with the other victims of Piccolo and his children.
