King Piccolo was probably my favorite major antagonist in the original Dragon Ball anime. Since I had seen Dragon Ball Z before having a chance to watch the original Dragon Ball from start to finish, it was a little weird to view it from this angle knowing what already happens.

It’s very clear to me that Akira Toriyama intended him to be a demon (not a alien) when he was first created. As no other Namekian again gave birth to such different creatures like he did with his egg spitting.

He was one of the few characters in all Dragon Ball to get his hands on a wish for evil which was to give himself eternal youth. Which ironically did not apply to Kami, so if his good counterpart died of old age, he was still doomed to die anyway.

One of the things that shocked me was when he killed Shenron after getting his wish. Never would have guessed anybody could do that anyway.

His fight against Goku was pretty darn good.

And Goku absolutely destroys him (and despite the big hole in his chest) he’s able to spit out another egg that gives birth to his son/reincarnation which is really strange.
