Deku Link is one of the many forms Link can take in The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask, and it’s definitely the worst of the bunch. It has its positives, but that list is short.

Unlike the other masks in the game, this one is technically a punishment inflicted by Skull Kid, who wields the titular Majora’s Mask. When you first become Deku Link, you can’t undo it with a simple button press.

So, you’re stuck running around as this extremely short, plant-like humanoid abomination. Instead of a sword, he shoots bubbles… really exciting.

Eventually, the Happy Mask Salesman performs some kind of ritual, allowing you to return to your human form. From that point on, the Deku form becomes something you can turn on and off with the mask. I’ve never felt so relieved.

Even his musical instrument is the worst—it feels about as cool as a middle school band.
